73, a long time resident of Pawtucket, RI, passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 10, 2018. Always active and on the go, Juanita was a wonderful cook, seamstress, dancer, and organizer. She retired from Progreso Latino spearheading the Senior Citizen program. She also volunteered at the Adult Care Center in Providence.
Born in Rio Piedras, PR, she was the daughter of the late Julio Rivera from Caguas, PR and Dona Maria Reyes, from Pawtucket, RI.
Juanita is survived by her three sons, James and his wife Angel, Michael and his wife Brenda, and David. She has nine grandchildren, Shantel, Devany, James, Alyxandra, Jonathan, Justin, Anthony, Milani and Maycee in addition to her six great grandchildren.
She will be dearly missed by her four sisters, Leonarda Rivera, Juana Hernandez (her twin), Socorro (Choco) Cotto and Maria (Mariel) RIvera, brother Wilfredo Rivera and her many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, June 15th from 5-9pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Avenue, Lincoln, RI 02865. Funeral will be on Saturday at 8:30am at Keefe Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church, Pine St., Pawtucket at 10am. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket, RI.
